The UF Livestock Judging Day Camp is scheduled for Saturday, January 20, 2007. This camp is designed for 4-H and FFA youth that have a beginner level knowledge of livestock judging and
would like to improve their placing, note taking, and oral reasoning skills. It is targeted to those
eligible for the State Contest - Senior 4-H'ers and High School FFA members. Classes judged will be
commonly seen at Florida judging contests. Individual instruction time will be a priority.
Classes covered will include:
- Breeding Cattle
- Breeding Swine
- Market Swine
- Market Steer
- Performance Data Evaluation
Objectives of the camp:
- Individual Instruction
- Develop Note-Taking Skills
- Improve Oral Reasons
Campers will receive:
- UF Livestock Judging Manual
- Lunch
- Video Tape of Reasons
- Individual Instruction with current judging team members
The registration fee for the camp is $35 per Student or $120 per Team of Four (4).
Registrations are due by January 12, 2006 and the camp will be limited to the first 30
youth. Registration fees must be paid in advance with checks written to "UF Horse Judging Team".
